Palm Sunday 2026 | Knowing the Times
March 29, 2026
On Palm Sunday, Jesus entered Jerusalem exactly as God had promised centuries earlier. The timing of His arrival was written clearly in Scripture, yet Israel’s religious leaders failed to recognize it. While the crowd celebrated, Jesus wept because they missed the moment God had appointed for their peace. This sermon reminds us that God is precise, faithful, and always on time, and that missing His timing carries real consequences. The call for believers today is to be watchful, faithful, and responsive to God’s Word.
1. Know God’s Word So You Don’t Miss God’s Work
The religious leaders had the Scriptures but failed to understand them. We must stay grounded in God’s Word so we can recognize what He is doing in our time and respond in faith.
2. Live Watchfully, Not Fearfully
Just as Israel was called to watch for the Messiah’s first coming, the church is called to live expectantly for Christ’s return: faithful, hopeful, and alert, not distracted or complacent.
3. Make Worship a Daily Response
The crowd worshiped Jesus briefly, but many later turned away. True worship is not a moment. It is a lifestyle. We are called to offer our lives as living sacrifices, honoring Christ in all we do.
