Genesis 30:25-43 | Homesick, But Not Empty Handed
March 22, 2026
In this message from Genesis 30:25–43, we explore Jacob’s deep longing for home and the spiritual homesickness many believers feel today. After fourteen difficult years serving Laban, Jacob says, “Send me away, that I may go to my own place and to my country.” But instead of releasing him, Laban deceives him yet again—removing every speckled and spotted animal that was supposed to be Jacob’s wages.
Yet where Laban schemes, God provides.
Through wisdom, discernment, and obedience, Jacob works faithfully while trusting the Lord’s promise. God turns deception into blessing, multiplying Jacob’s flock until “the man became exceedingly prosperous.” This sermon reminds us that even when we long for “home”—for heaven, for rest, for what’s ahead—God equips us to persevere, to work faithfully, and to trust Him as Jehovah Jireh, our Provider.
